What is G20?
The Group of Twenty (G20) is the most important platform for global economic cooperation that was found in the year 1999.
It is crucial in forming and enhancing global governance and it makes decisions regarding all significant worldwide economic concerns.
Each year one of the 20 countries will host the summit. This year, this summit will be held in India.
This year, the theme for the G20 summit is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth · One Family · One Future” – is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad.
The topic also emphasises LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), with its related ecologically sound and responsible decisions is made at the level of both individual lives and national development, leading to globally transformational activities that result in a cleaner, greener, and bluer future.
What is C20?
C20 is one of the G20’s official engagement groups. The chairman of the C20 is Mata Amritanandamayi.
C20 India 2023, gives Civil Society Organizations (CSO) from all over the globe a forum to express their constituents’ objectives to the G20’s world leaders. It provides CSOs with a platform to advance social and economic development with the aim of leaving no one behind, represent the main and prevalent problems affecting people throughout the world, and defend the authority of this sector.
The group’s unique structure allows it to involve more than 800 representatives of civil society organisations from all across the world while incorporating G20 ideals.
Organizations in civil society are now one of the best methods for bringing about social change. They work to bridge the communication gap between the public and the government and have strong ties to the general public.
The priority issues of C20 will focus on solving the socio-economic matters which touch the daily lives of the people, which include

- Health,
- Environment,
- Technology and
- Sewa(service)
The flame of optimism, individual determination, and selfless service is represented by the C20 India 2023 logo. The #YouAreTheLight is a call to action for every member of civil society to unite, forge their own path, discover answers, and address problems as a group.
